My project was always going to be about shoes. However, originally I was going to create a video of them being worn during a 24 hour period. I wanted to explore the idea of how things deteriorate. I like how everyone wears shoes, it’s something we all have in common.

You can tell a lot about a person by their shoes. While my plan was to carry out this idea, by dog actually found them and I came back to them destroyed :(

As my project was already about how things can deteriorate, and how something expensive can lose all its value buy then being worn through I wanted to create a video of the small journey of these shoes. and how they still can have purpose (I wanted to make it look as though they were walking by themselves) even though they don’t have value anymore.

Jasmine’s most urgent concern is what she is going to do in her future, it bears on her art because it encourages her to try different things to get an idea of what direction she wants to go into. What keeps Jasmine up at night is her thoughts, when she can’t sleep she thinks more, and at night that’s when I get the most creative, so it can help me come up with ideas for my art or inspire me. Jasmine’s ‘people’ are her family and my friends. they inspire her to do what she loves and support her. People’s pain resides in themselves, and she believes that it can encourage you to express yourself. Channeling your pain into being creative can really help you. Jasmine doesn’t think she has one particular ‘most brilliant event’, she has had many but her favorites are when she is traveling when she goes somewhere new and learns more about life. This can be very inspiring. She has had a few painful experiences, they motivate her to move forward and look forward and heal from them using her art and creativity. Her first heartbreak was the first time she moved, from Monaco to London. That was her first big change in life and what was known was scary but it was part of her life experience which definitely bears on her art. Her biggest fear is losing the people she loves, it bears on her art as it gives her experience and she can channel her emotions into creativity. Jasmine would like to try different things during her fashion career, she would like to try working in different areas and pursue the one she likes the most. It bears on her art as she needs to keep her mind open and be open to exploring. Jasmine’s home is her family and friends. She believes home is where you find it to be. She wants to go into Fashion in the future, she’s not sure what direction she would like to go into, an idea would be to work for a magazine. The compulsion for Jasmine was being inspired by the world around her, she was inspired by her parents and always took interest in fashion from a young age.
